Laboratory Building Design Consultants (LBDC), serves as a Trusted Advisor to the academic and biomedical research community as well as the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and medical device industry and architectural firms interested in developing state-of-the-art Science & Technology facilities and programs.

Our services include laboratory programming, planning and design, strategic science planning and laboratory equipment planning. Our science facilities inspire creativity and innovation, foster collaboration among colleagues and peers and attract and retain the best and brightest talent.

Ned Michalowski
Principal

Ned brings over 31 years of experience and 20 million square feet in planning and design of high technology laboratory facilities for educational, commercial and government market sectors. His projects have been honored three times in the R&D magazine laboratory of the year awards including Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceutical 1995 Laboratory of the Year.

Ned has also applied his proven programming and design skills on facilities for the Novartis Institute for Functional Genomics in San Diego, California. He has extensive experience providing strategic science planning, programming and design for numerous projects of various sizes, types and complexity and continues to offer creative solutions while adhering to the schedule and budget. Ned also is experienced in providing owners representation and peer review services.
